Meet Todd Newcomer
I am seeking your vote to serve as City Council Representative for Long Lake. I am proud to call Long Lake my family's home for the last three years, where I live with my wife and two daughters. After spending 27 years as a Firefighter (Lieutenant) Paramedic, I recently retired. I am very proud of the opportunity I had to serve and protect my neighbors and the community in which I lived. This was an honor of a lifetime. The ongoing desire to continue to serve my community has inspired my run to be your representative for the Long Lake City Council.
The city government has the responsibility to provide and manage the infrastructure and services that foster and maintain a healthy, safe, and comfortable quality of life. This is accomplished by providing and funding exceptional public safety, and responsibly maintaining and upgrading roads, sewer, water, parks, etc.
I believe that our city is a special and unique place, one that we can be proud to make our home. And equally proud to share with our neighbors and visitors. Long Lake and most of our surrounding communities are currently going through a time of change and development in our Fire and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) delivery models. Growth and change are hard and uncomfortable for many, and simple and consistent communication makes that change easier for all.
Public Safety is ingrained as a priority in my background. I am unapologetic in demanding that the people who live in and visit Long Lake are protected and kept safe to the very best of my abilities. Long Lake and our surrounding neighbors should be working together to provide safety services at the highest level and in a cost-responsible fashion, and importantly, without the duplication of efforts and resources.
These responsibilities imposed upon the city council require a candidate who listens, asks questions, embraces constructive criticism, communicates well, and prioritizes the community and others before self. I believe I can be that city councilmember and ask for your help and vote as we continue to work together to make Long Lake the wonderful city that we call home.
Thank you for considering me with your vote for city council member of Long Lake. It would be my privilege to serve my neighbors so that we may continue to enjoy and be proud of this great community and surrounding area.
